1975 Mini Pick Up Project
Before
This was a project to restore a 1975 Mini Pick-Up.
The car had been owned as an unfinished project for 12 years, the shell was in excelant condition having been worked on steadily during that time, it had even been three different colours! This ment there was vertually no welding required as it had already been fitted with new floors and A-Panels and few other bits had been nicely replaced.
The Engine was slightly more work, it wasn't the original unit, rather it was a 1275cc A+ engine from a later 80's car. It recieved a major overhaul to replace some worn seals etc, but none of the major components required much attension, save a good clean and paint.
All the suspension bushes and bearings recieved attension and both subframes were completly stripped and rebuilt.
The Interior was also completly stripped and rebuilt. The 1275GT three binicle instrument panel was kept from the car that had provided the engine, and some great 30th Aniversary Limited Edition Seats were the finishing touch.
Take a look at the 'Before', 'During' and 'After' pages and I hope you'll agree it was a very sucessfull restoration of a great little car.
The project took a total of 4 months and approx 300 hours to complete.
